MATU: Kampung Tian Matu is set to benefit from a new multipurpose hall worth RM15mil, aimed at enhancing community activities and programmes.
Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya revealed that the project would be implemented under the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA) Phase One.
“The construction of this hall will provide the local community with a dedicated space for organising various events and activities.”
Juanda made these remarks during the Aidilfitri event at Kampung Tian Matu held at the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Resource Centre yesterday.
Furthermore, the Jemoreng assemblyman highlighted the resolution of parking issues in the village.
“The completion of the new road behind Kampung Tian earlier this year has addressed the parking shortage, eliminating concerns raised by residents. This ensures a worry-free Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration for the community.”
Earlier in the day, Juanda and his wife Datin Shanti Achmad attended the Kampung Sok Aidilfitri event at the village’s JKKK Resource Centre.
Addressing other community concerns, he mentioned ongoing discussions regarding drainage improvements, with plans being coordinated with relevant authorities.
“With the proposal for drainage improvement, we aim to identify landowners’ agreement to implement the project.”
Regarding youth activities, he encouraged input from the community to promote healthy initiatives, particularly in economic aspects.
Efforts to expand the village under the Village Expansion Scheme (SPK) continue to progress, with regular follow-ups and actions being undertaken.
Juanda and his wife also took the opportunity to mingle with the community and distribute duit raya during the event, which was attended by Matu acting district officer Zaraina Sahari and Penghulu Sekaan Penghulu Muda Awang Hashim Awang Salleh.
