MIRI: A grim discovery of a dead human body was found floating at a lake in Senadin this morning.

The body was found by a member of the public who happened to be at the area around 9.45am, collecting some rubbish. He immediately alerted the relevant authorities of the discovery.

Initial investigation suggested a foul play, indicating homicide rather than natural causes.

Upon arriving at the scene, Miri police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers cordoned off the area and began a thorough examination. 

A team of firefighters from Lutong fire station led by its chief PBT II Henry Jugah rushed to the scene to assist in the retrieval of the deceased body, upon receiving a distressed call at 10.23am. 

The deceased has been identified as a 57 year-old local man, an Orang Ulu from Long Atip, Apoh Baram.

Miri CID cordoned off the area for Investigation.
