SIBU: Over 160 employees of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sibu Branch, along with their families, attended a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at the department’s office on Thursday (May 2).
JPJ Sibu Branch chief Mohamad Faizal David Jemat said the event, themed ‘Classic Raya’, was also attended by personnel from the Stapang Enforcement Station (SP) and JPJ UTC Sibu, as well as representatives from the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Immigration Department, National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) and PUSPAKOM Sibu.
“During this Hari Raya celebration, we gather to strengthen our bonds and enjoy the food prepared. We also aim to reinforce the spirit of unity and camaraderie among us who work under one department.
“The close cooperation with other enforcement agencies such as the PDRM, AADK, and Immigration Department can be further enhanced through programmes like this,” he said this in his speech at the gathering.
He said that various Raya dishes including traditional and modern foods prepared by JPJ staff themselves were served to all the guests.
During the event, contests for the best traditional Raya attire for both men and women, as well as a food stall competition, lucky draws, and distribution of ‘duit raya’ (money gifts) to the children of the employees, were also held.
Faizal pointed out that amidst the joy of celebrating Hari Raya, employees should not forget their duties and responsibilities and must carry them out diligently.
“I urge all JPJ Sibu Branch, SP Stapang, and JPJ UTC Sibu employees to work earnestly, uphold integrity, be diligent, and responsible in carrying out every entrusted task.
“Whatever responsibility is given, we must do our best so that the people we serve are satisfied with the excellent service we provide to them,” he said.
In this regard, he said employees need to maintain good manners, improve efficiency, and always be transparent in carrying out their duties in line with the JPJ slogan “Friendly, Efficient, Transparent”.”
