This is to discuss and address the city’s concerns over safety, environment, traffic congestion and health issues arising from the city’s ongoing sewerage project.

The dialogue was held on March 7. In a press statement released today, all issues were discussed.

The project which started on March 30, 2017, which is 48 per cent completed, is expected to be fully completed by June 3, 2021.

Open trenching works within town centre especially along Jalan Slyvia, Jalan Kipas, Jalan Merpati, Jalan Sukan, Jalan Bulan Sabit and Jalan Sehati are in progress and expected to be completed by December this year, as informed by the main contractor.

The council also urged the contractor to always abide by the local laws and regulations in order to ease the public’s concerns.
