KUCHING: The initiative by the state government to stimulate agricultural activities through Agriculture Community Outreach Programme (AgriCOP) will benefit the local economic sector.
Tanjung Datu assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu said RM120,000 had been allocated for the constituency to conduct AgriCOP.
“Through this course, it is my hope that it will be a platform to develop agricultural activities for the rural community and participants.
“This is to expand their knowledge on producing quality crops to increase individual income and create employment opportunities for other individuals,” she said when officiating at the closing ceremony of the district-level AgriCOP programme at Mahligai Gading Lundu multipurpose hall on Thursday.
Jamilah said the programme was conducted with a limited number of participants due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“This was also in accordance to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the recovery movement control order (RMCO),” she said.
The Tanjung Datu assemblywoman said participants must seize the opportunity with the offered facilities as well as focus and be committed in developing the agriculture sector in Lundu.
