SIBU: Folks are invited to enliven the ‘Jom Berambeh Berulam’ programme at Taman Selera Harmoni slated to begin at 1pm today.
Organised by Nangka Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women’s Wing in collaboration with the Nangka Service Centre and several non-governmental organisations (NGOs), the event hopes to attract 800 people.
According to the wing’s deputy chief Jamilah Imit, those present will be served with various types of ulam-ulaman.
According to her, the ulam-ulaman, which is similar to salad, includes long beans, petai beans, cekur manis, ulam raja and tapioca leaves.
“We also offer a number of other dishes such as linut, bubur pedas and yams.
“This event seeks to promote traditional foods to youngsters and those not familiar with this kind of foods which have many health benefits,” she said.
Education, Science and Technological Research assistant minister and Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee is expected to officiate at the event.
