PBB CONVENTIION

SIBU: Themed ‘Sarawak Rights Prioritised, Development Empowered’ Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) mini convention is an important event to bring together party members and its Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) components in facing the upcoming 12th State election.

The convention’s organising chairman Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, who is PBB secretary-general said the convention was also a platform for delegates to discuss the direction and future of the party, and redouble cooperation with friends in GPS to continue efforts in developing the state.

“Today’s convention, among others, also aims to give voice and strengthen unity and understanding among our members to continue efforts in helping the people of Sarawak who always want peace, harmony and a better life.

“We also want this convention to be a platform to prepare the party and its members to face the upcoming State Election,” he said in his opening remarks at the event held at Kingwood Hotel on Saturday.

PBB president and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg officiated at the event and addressed the delegates.

Nanta said the convention also enabled the members to present working papers in preparation for the state election as well as to hear special discussions that revolved around local and current issues.

“This convention is also to share strategies and guidance to all members to face the next state election. All members will be exposed to the knowledge of how we can face this election smoothly under the new norm.

“Thus, we need to familiarise ourselves with the new norms and adhere to the standard operating procedure (SOP).

“We need to be prepared not only mentally and physically but also with effective knowledge and strategies,” he said.
