MIRI: Some 84 families out of the 100 doors from the old block of the 275-door Long Bemang Sungai Apoh longhouse benefitted from the minor rural project (MRP) in the form of contributions yesterday (Sept 19).

The contributions for the Long Bemang Roofing Replacement Project consist of items such as ridge capping and nails were presented by Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau.

He said that the project allowed him to reach out to the underprivileged in his constituency.

“This project by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg was to ensure Sarawakians are able to live more comfortably and to help those in need,” he added.

In addition, he urged the recipients to use the materials given and to submit a full report.

Jok Ngau, who is the project Ad-hoc committee chairman, said the project had brought a smile to all recipients.

He also thanked the elected representatives for their efforts and he urged the community of Long Bemang to continue supporting them under Abang Johari’s leadership.
