KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is now in London heading a state government delegation to the (International Trade, Industry and Investment Ministry) MINTRED Connects@London 2023 programme.

He arrived in the British capital last night (Dec 7) as part of a two-day official working visit to the United Kingdom.

Abang Johari was accompanied by his deputy Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki. They arrived at the Park Tower Knightbridge Hotel at 8.30 pm local time.

Among others in the entourage are Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni and Deputy Minister of International Trade, Industry and Investment Datuk Malcolm Mussen Lamoh.

Abang Johari and the delegation are attending the MINTRED Connects@London 2023 programme at the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill at 10 local time this morning (Dec 8) to establish ties and networks between entrepreneurs from Sarawak and potential partners and investors from around the world.

This afternoon, he is expected to attend a meeting with British multinational oil and gas company British Petroleum followed by a meeting with Hambro Perks, a company which focuses on technology-enabled businesses.

Tomorrow (Dec 9), the Premier is expected to meet with the Malaysian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and officials from the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation and the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority.
