KUCHING: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has been briefed on the reopening of the country’s borders from April 1.

The one-hour briefing via Zoom, chaired by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), also touched on other matters, including nine endemic phase guidelines and the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL).

Abang Johari’s press secretary Ambrose Cheng disclosed this on Facebook, Friday (March 11).

“Views and suggestions have been put forward, particularly on the reopening of national borders, especially Sarawak’s borders with neighboring countries, and several resolutions were made, which would be announced by SDMC,” Cheng said.

The Zoom meeting was also attended by deputy premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian as well as Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

Meanwhile, Abang Johari, who tested positive for Covid-19 recently, is recovering well and undergoing a seven-day home quarantine.
