Abang Johari briefed on immigration control situation

KUCHING: Newly appointed deputy director-general (Control) of the Malaysian Immigration Department, Datuk Ken Leben paid a courtesy call on Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today.

Ken, who is the first Sarawakian appointed to the position, is the former state immigration director since 2016.

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), Ken said during his courtesy call, Abang Johari was aware of some of the latest information regarding the immigration control situation in Sarawak.

“I will carry out my new duties in Putrajaya and at the same time I have provided the latest information regarding the immigration control situation in Sarawak.

“I told him that the immigration control so far is satisfactory and manageable,” he said during the courtesy call on Abang Johari at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here.

Ken disclosed he also updated Abang Johari on the latest development of policies implemented at the federal level which are suitable to be implemented in Sarawak.

Also present were Sarawak Immigration deputy director Azlan Othman and other immigration officials.
