Abang Johari receives Japanese visitors

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received two courtesy calls at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here on Firday (Jan 21).

The first courtesy call was by a delegation from Mitsubishi Corporation Malaysia led by its chief executive Masashi Shiraishi.

Mitsubishi Corporation Malaysia based at the Petronas Twin Towers Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) is a multinational company from Japan that is also involved in natural gas industry projects in Malaysia besides having a commitment in the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC).

The second visit was from the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) led by its president, Datuk Misnu Taha.

During the visit, Abang Johari was briefed on current developments and the council’s plans for 2022. In addition, Abang Johari was also introduced to new MIS members for the term August 2021 until July 2024.

Among those in the MIS delegation were Deputy State Secretary (Socio-Economic Transformation), Datuk Sri Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) director Ustaz Khalidi Ibrahim.
