KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg had his day filled with activities today.
Earlier in the morning, he recorded his Christmas and New Year message at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya.
The recording, which lasted 15 minutes, was handled by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit and Radio Television Malaysia (RTM).
After the session, he received a courtesy call from University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS), expected to be led by UCTS vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Khairuddin Abdul Hamid.
This was followed by a courtesy call by members of the Sarawak Forwarding Agencies Association (SFAA).
The delegation, led by Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin, was joined by SFAA president Joseph Chung Joo Heng and deputy president David Chieng Kai Kiat.
Lee, when met after the courtesy call, said among the topics discussed during the visit was the improvement of Sarawak’s logistics sector.
“This includes new and more efficient methods in delivering goods throughout the state to ensure Sarawak remains competitive.
“We also take note of what was proposed by SFAA and my ministry will continue to study and look into what were raised, particularly on imported goods and export activities at our ports and our cargo terminals,” he said.
