KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday received a courtesy call by a delegation from the organising committee of the Malaysian Sim Clan conference led by its chairman Sim Kiang Chiok.

Sim said the purpose of the visit was to invite the chief minister as guest-of-honour during the association’s welcoming dinner for delegates of the conference from all over the world on Aug 2.

Also in the delegation was Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian.

He said the conference would be a good platform to introduce Sarawak to the world not only as a nice place to visit but also a place worth to invest in.

About 500 foreign delegates and another 500 from Sarawak will take part in the conference.

The Malaysian Sim Clan conference will be held from Aug 2-4 at the Christian Ecumenical Worship Centre (Aug 2-3) and at Aeroville Hai Tiang Lo Hall on Aug 4.
