SIBU: The State Government will continue to bring development if given the trust and full support of the people in the upcoming general election (GE14).

Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said strong unity among the state’s multi-racial society is needed to ensure a Barisan Nasional (BN) victory in GE14.

He said a strong BN victory, including in Sibu and Lanang, is crucial for the benefit of all Sarawakians.

“As we all know, the chairmen of Sarawak BN component parties are all Sarawakians, unlike opposition parties whose bosses are from outside the state,” he said.

Abg Johari was speaking at the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Sibu luncheon in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration at Sibu Civic Centre yesterday.

He stressed that development is meant for the whole of Sarawak, including Sibu.

“We have a development plan, which is to plan various forms of development for the people in the state, including Sibu and Bukit Assek.
