Abg Jo, wife to attend CNY open houses Sunday

BINTULU: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang are expected to attend the Chinese New Year (CNY) Open House of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) and the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture who is also a Member of Parliament Bintulu Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing this Sunday. It will be held at the Bintulu Community Hall.

Abang Johari and his wife are expected to arrive at 10.30 in the morning to both attend and enliven the biggest annual event that has been held since 2000. However, it has not been held for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CNY Open House organised by PDP and Tiong will start from 9 am to 1 pm on the day in question which, among other things, aims to strengthen relations among people of multiple races, religions and cultural backgrounds as well as a platform to get closer to the community in this part, in general, at the same time share the excitement of CNY celebration.

Cultural performances and songs from various tribes and ethnicities will also be presented for the entertainment of dignitaries, guests and the public who visit the CNY open house.

The Premier, his wife and his entourage will then subsequently attend the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bintulu Branch CNY Open House and Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming at Dinner World Restaurant Bintulu at 12.30 pm.

People from all walks of life in this area are invited to attend the CNY Open Houses of the two leaders of the component parties of Gabungan Parti Sarawak.
