About 6,000 attend ‘Lan Berambeh’ programme

The 13th Sarawak Students’ ‘Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak’ (LBAS) programme for the year 2022 was held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), which was also attended by Sarawakian students from Peninsular Malaysia.

The Sarawak Foundation (Yayasan Sarawak) Group, comprising of the Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS), Curtin University Malaysia, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, University of Technology Sarawak (UTS), and Sarawak Centre of Performance Excellence SDN BHD (SCOPE), did not pass up the opportunity to participate in the exhibition provided to channel information to the people of Sarawak, particularly students, on the assistance and educational programmes provided.

An estimated 6,000 students, mostly from educational institutions, as well as parents from all across the peninsula, visited the Sarawak Foundation Group exhibition to obtain information from the officers on duty.

At the exhibition, online services such as applications, application status checks, and loan balances are also available.

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said that the programme, which has been running since 2008, aims to inform Sarawakians working, studying, and living in Peninsular Malaysia about current developments and progress made by the state government, including disseminating information on educational and employment opportunities in Sarawak.

The one-day event kicked up with the POST COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 Exhibition, followed by the Sarawak Dialogue: Sarawak Agenda and Town Hall with Sarawak’s Premier.

State leaders also attended the Sarawakian Students Dinner with Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
