KUCHING: Community Wellbeing Assistant Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis said quality human capital will help raise the living standard of a family.
“Academic excellence can guarantee the student’s future. When a person’s future is bright the family will also benefit from it. That is why good education can help to eradicate poverty,” he said during a Majlis Merarau PIBG SK Paku, Ulu Undop, Sri Aman on Wednesday.
Francis called on parents to support their children in their schooling endeavour, saying if their children are successful, parents would also enjoy their success.
He praised the organiser of the event, saying it showed people still appreciated that good cooperation was required to get things done.
Francis, who is also the Simanggang assemblyman, allocated RM20,000 from his Minor Rural Project fund to SK Paku PIBG.
