KUCHING: The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) has welcomed a move to set up Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS), totally owned by the state government.
In a press statement released yesterday, ACCCIS said it wishes to applaud the Chief Minister for his announcement dated on 5 April 2017 on setting up Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS), totally owned by the state government.
“This most welcomed initiative not only propel Sarawak’s economic growth but also expedite the transformation of the state of Sarawak into a model state.
“ACCCIS would like to take this opportunity to suggest our own Sarawak boutique banks to be set up to serve and benefit our local SMEs whereas Development Bank of Sarawak only functioned as a development bank.
“ACCCIS wholeheartedly support this new initiative and believes under the Chief Minister’s leadership, Sarawak will gradually become an advancement state in line with the social economic transformation plan (2017-2030).”
