KUCHING: Beliaku Ceria Merdeka Programme is a programme which centralises the youth.

For that, various activities were held that involved the youth such as aerobics, various competitions as well as motivational talks from experts.

Astana Lot village chief Abdul Rahman Hassan expressed his hopes that through the programme, the youth will be able to benefit in getting information and guidance on how to be responsible to themselves, family and country from a religious point of view.

“I hope that such programmes will continue (every month if possible) and that more people will be participating in it,” he said.

He said this during the officiating ceremony of Beliaku Ceria Merdeka 2022 at Kampung Astana Lot on Today (Aug 21).

Adding on in his speech, he conveyed his wish for the government to hold activities that are a little more challenging such as expeditions for youth aged 20 and above.

“From its organising, they will be able to gain various benefits and share their experiences with others.

“If God willing, we want to propose a plan to do an expedition to Mulu Cave and discuss the costs involved.

“I believe that once they experience such an expedition, it will surely prevent them from getting involved in unhealthy activities,” he said.
