KUCHING: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MECD) through Bank Rakyat will install additional automated teller machines (ATM) at the premises of Julau District Cooperative Berhad building starting next month.

In a written reply to a question raised by Julau MP Datuk Larry Sng in the Parliament on Tuesday, MECD said Bank Rakyat had conducted an assessment visit around the Julau area on Sept 27 this year to identify the need for an additional ATM for the local residents.

“Based on this assessment, Bank Rakyat has identified a potential location for placing another additional ATM next to the existing ATM at the premises of the Julau District Cooperative Berhad building.

“The installation of this additional ATM is expected to be carried out in December this year,” it said.

Sng was asking MECD on the latest follow-up status of the request for an additional Bank Rakyat ATM in the Julau constituency for the convenience of the public, eliminating the need to travel back and forth to the towns of Sibu or Sarikei.
