SHAH ALAM: The Coroner’s Court here set June 26 for re-mention of the inquest into the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.

Coroner Rofiah Mohamad fixed the date pending appointment of a new lawyer to represent the Housing and Local Government Ministry, Fire and Rescue Department and the deceased’s family.

Earlier as the inquest entered its 37th day, the coroner granted the application of counsel Syazlin Mansor to withdraw from representing the three parties.

The lawyer’s withdrawal also rendered void her clients’ appointment of former Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz forensic and pathology senior consultant Prof Dr Shahrom Abd Wahid as an expert witness in the inquest. He was to have testified as the 29th witness for the second time yesterday.

Rofiah said the court would also decide on the same date whether or not to recall Dr Sharom.

Meanwhile, she requested conducting officer Faten Hadni Khairuddin to propose a suitable and willing physics expert for the court to call and testify.
