Adopt modern technology to increase productivity

BINTULU: Farmers and agropreneurs are advised to take advantage of the assistance and facilities provided by the state government under the Agricultural Facilities Fund (AFF) Programme to improve the socio-economy of their families.

Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip hoped that the assistance would make farmers and agropreneurs more focused and committed to developing their projects.

“Besides that, farmers are also advised to adopt modern agricultural technology in increasing their efficiency and productivity,” he said in an event at the Bintulu Agriculture Department here, yesterday.

A total of 70 farmers under the Jepak constituency received AFF assistance amounting to RM600,000 during the programme.

At the event, Talib, who is also Jepak assemblyman, presented agricultural inputs to eight recipients witnessed by Bintulu Agriculture officer Anggang Jimbun.

AFF is a special allocation from the Sarawak government for farmers, smallholders and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), especially in rural areas, to help increase their income.
