KUCHING: Agencies under the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) were reminded to work together to develop Islamic teachings.
Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said that every agency has its function, role strengths and expertise.
“We can no longer work in a silo, instead we must work together as efficiently as possible and by understanding the needs of other agencies … we need each other, ” he said.
He said this when attending a management fund allocation ceremony for Islamic agencies on Thursday. Also present was MIS president Datuk Misnu Taha.
Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also the Assistant Minister of Utilities (Water Supply), explained that close cooperation between Islamic agencies is important to form strong teamwork.
“The noble effort that we put is important as an approach to develop the Ummah (nation) as well as to set an example to the general public and the younger generation, said Rahman while adding that developing Islamic studies is an exultant purpose that must be continued.
