Agong officiates commissioning ceremony for ATM Cadet Officers

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today officiated a commissioning ceremony for Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) Cadet Officers at the Perdana Camp, Sungai Besi here.

For the first time, the ceremony saw graduating cadet officers from the Military Training Academy, the Army Academy, the Royal Malaysian Navy’s KD Sultan Idris 1 and the Air Force Academy being commissioned together.

The parade in conjunction with the ceremony was also participated by cadet officers from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Royal Johor Military Force.

A total of 504 cadet officers were commissioned at the ceremony including those who completed Bachelors degrees at  Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) and other public institutions of higher learning.

The event yesterday saw junior officer Mohd Zulzafri Zolkarnain adjudged as Overall Best Cadet Officer.

Also present were Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu, Malaysian Armed Forces chief Gen Tan Sri Zulkifli Zainal Abidin, Army chief Gen Datuk Seri Ahmad Hasbullah Mohd Nawawi, Royal Malaysian Air Force chief Gen Tan Sri Affendi Buang and Royal Malaysian Navy chief Admiral Datuk Mohd Reza Mohd Sany. –  Bernama
