Agong, Permaisuri break fast at Masjid Jamek

KUCHING: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah attended the breaking-of-fast ceremony at Masjid Jamek (State Mosque) in Petra Jaya here, yesterday.

According to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the majesties’ arrival was welcomed by Head of State’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg as well as other guests of honour.

The ceremony began with the presentation of RM19,950 in contributions to 30 asnaf under Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak.

After breaking their fast, His Majesty and Abang Johari together with other guests performed the Maghrib prayers.

Also present were Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan Al-Sultan Abdullah, Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar.
