“For this programme, we are focusing on the Padawan area. The mobile services will be here from today (July 12) until July 16,” he said during the launch of the service at the Padawan Sub-District Office compound, Jalan Puncak Borneo near here on Monday.

The services included withdrawals, account and debit card opening counter and promotion of Takaful Kasih Plus products.

Abdul Halek noted that Agrobank intended to bring two mobile banking vehicles for the programme but the other vehicle is still in Kuala Lumpur due to the movement control order.

Commenting on the Sarawak Micro Credit Scheme, he said that the Sarawak government had allocated RM45 million to Agrobank Sarawak, in which RM25 mln was allocated last year and another RM20 mln, this year.

“As it is one of the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance programmes, it received positive response from entrepreneurs.

“Those who intend to apply for the scheme may send in their applications online or directly go to the nearest Agrobank branch as we have 16 branches and three Agrobank kiosks statewide.”
