BALINGIAN: Victims of recent fires in Kampung Lintang here and in Kampung Mateding Kecil in Mukah continue to receive donations from caring citizens and  from two non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Kampung Penakub Bazaar Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and Neighbourhood Watch (KRT) on May 17 handed over their donations to the fire victims in Kampung Mateding Kecil.

On May 13, the two Mukah-based NGOs also presented their donations to the fire victims in Kampung Lintang.

Kapitan Kueh Bing Chuan and Ketua Kaum Jefri Musa, who both represented the JKKK and KRT, handed over the donations to the victims.

Kueh hoped that the donations in the form of cash, essential foods and bottled drinks would help lessen the burden of  the victims.

The fire  in Kampung Lintang on May 12 completely destroyed three houses, and partially damaged two others.

In Kampung Mateding Kecil, one house was completely burnt in a fire which happened on May 16.

The tragedies, however, did not result in any injuries or fatalities.
