KUCHING: The Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) presented grants totalling RM130,000 for the construction of two new churches in Sibu and repairing the BEM church in Limbang.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who is also the minister in charge of Unifor handed over the grants.

Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang received a cheque for RM50,000 for repair works on the pastor’s house of the BEM Long Sepangeh Church.

Meanwhile, Romeo Christopher Tegong, a political secretary to the chief minister, received a similar cheque for RM50,000 for the construction of the new Tanjung Latap Methodist Iban Church.

Romeo also received another cheque for RM30,000 which will go towards the construction of the Rantau Panjai Methodist Iban Church.
