SANDAKAN: The state government will continue to help the needy and attend to their plight. “Aidiladha reminds us of making sacrifices to help people in need…there are still people who are left behind in development,” Sabah Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk Frankie Poon told reporters after contributing eight cows to be sacrificed for the celebration here yesterday.

On Aidiladha, he said the celebration “brings a sense of togetherness” among the people in the country. Poon assured Muslims in Sabah that their wellbeing would not be neglected despite the change in state leadership.

“On my part, I will always go down to the ground and try to listen to the people and learn and implement solutions along the way for the good of the people,” said Poon who is also Tanjung Papat assemblyman. – Bernama
