Aidilfitri celebrations among close family members only

KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has allowed Aidilfitri celebrations to run from the first to the seventh day only, and among close family members.

SDMC said, in its daily Covid-19 update today, that detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) could be obtained at the Sarawak Islamic Council website (https://mis.sarawak.gov.my/)

Meanwhile, 11 areas have been put under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

“The EMCO at Rumah Tiut Usit, Sungai Setulan, Jalan Pesisir Kuala Tatau in Tatau and Rumah Mujah Atin, 12th Mile, Jalan Bintulu-Miri in Bintulu is from April 28 to May 11.

“Rumah Sam Sumbang, Jalan Bintulu-Tatau as well as Forescom Plywood Sdn Bhd Employees Quarters in Bintulu and Rumah Ajah Umkar, Sg Serupai Baru in Tatau will undergo EMCO from April 29 to May 12.”

EMCO at Rumah Saran Belang, Nanga Tau in Tatau will be enforced from May 1 to 14 while the EMCO at Rumah Nelson Gima, Kuala Setiam, Jalan Pesisir Kuala Tatau and Rumah Jungan Mitoh, Sg Mas KM25, Jalan Bintulu-Tatau in Bintulu is from May 2 to 15.

Rumah Jembu Ensor, Rantau Sukat Roban in Betong will undergo EMCO from May 3 to 17 while Kampung Bungey, Debak in Betong and Kampung Tanjung, Hulu Saratok will be put under EMCO from May 5 to 18.

SDMC also announced the extension of EMCO at Rumah Dinggai, Sg Amut Atas Lubok Pisang in Pakan and Rumah Jawa, Sungai Kerubong Selalang in Sarikei from May 6 to 12.

It said the EMCO at Rumah Naning, Sg Baji in Saikei ended today.

“This is because no positive cases were detected during the second screening in the area. In addition, there are also no traces that Covid-19 is still contagious in the area.”
