KUCHING: Mukah will host the State-level National Day celebration and people there are looking forward to the spectacle in their town. Suara Sarawak took time out to feel their pulse.
I feel very excited that Mukah has been chosen as the host for the National Day celebration this year. We will get to witness and participate in various activities. Therefore, I hope all residents unite to make this celebration a success.
As Malaysians, I’m proud of our nation’s achievements. I’m also thrilled that Mukah is hosting the state-level celebration. I hope that all visitors to Mukah take the time to explore interesting Melanau places like Sapan Puloh and Lamin Dana. Despite being Chinese, I still want to promote the Melanau community, as they are the majority here. They have fascinating customs, culture, and traditions that outsiders should know about. Therefore, we must respect each other and stand united during this National Day.
There’s no denying that I’m excited about National Day 2023, as my hometown is hosting the state-level celebration. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate the nation’s achievements with family and friends. This reinforces our love for the country and gratitude towards those who fought for our freedom. With Mukah as the host, I hope visitors can enjoy the local customs and culture. This is also a chance for Mukah to attract more tourists in the future. I’m very happy to celebrate this National Day because Mukah is hosting the state-level celebration, bringing together people from all walks of life, including state leaders. The festivities held here are vibrant, and I hope that Mukah continues to host in the future so that new generations can embrace patriotism. Our independence should be accompanied by a deep love for the homeland. We should also free ourselves from negative aspects that might diminish the significance of our achieved freedom.

Honestly, this year’s National Day celebration feels different due to Mukah being the host. There are intriguing activities lined up, and preparations are evident from all parties involved. This is a great approach for tourism, drawing outsiders to Mukah. With this celebration, I hope it instills a sense of love for the country, especially among the youth, to create a strong generation in the future. Let’s preserve the existing harmony and unity. Don’t let negative influences disrupt it, as ‘freedom is not easily obtained and requires true sacrifices,’ as stated by Tunku Abdul Rahman. May Malaysia continue to progress in all aspects.
