KUCHING: Every celebration in the nation has historical importance so it is only right that these are observed by all in the country.

“We should celebrate everything that represents multicultural reason, togetherness, and the great relationship between the federal and the state (governments),” said Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.

National Day on Aug 31, for instance, should be celebrated to show our gratitude towards Malaysia as well as the success of Sarawak, she said.

“It is a celebration that we ought to preserve,” she said.

She said this to the media after officiating at the Beliaku Ceria Merdeka 2022 ceremony at Kampung Astana Lot on Today (Aug 21).

“Be it National Day, Malaysia Day, Sarawak Day… everything should be celebrated when it is about the harmony that we have.

“The harmony and success that we have attained did not come easy so it is not something that we should take for granted,” she said.
