KUCHING: The assistance rendered by the federal and state governments during the Covid-19 pandemic has been inclusive and covers a wide spectrum of society.
Deputy Rural Development Minister Datuk Henry Sum Agong said the aid is not only limited to the B40 group but also all affected due to the movement restrictions.
“The federal government has previously channelled various types of assistance to the people through several aid packages and the latest People Protection and Economic Rehabilitation Package (Pemulih) worth RM150 billion.
“Meanwhile, the Sarawak government also helped its people by channelling aid through seven Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) packages.
“All assistance under this package is to ease the burden and help the people in weathering the pandemic,” he said when speaking at a programme at the Trusan Community Hall in Lawas recently.
Henry said a total of 203 food baskets were distributed to the needy at 20 locations in the Sundar and Trusan neighbourhood areas.
At the same time, the Lawas MP also urged the people, especially in the Lawas district to immediately get the Covid-19 vaccine.
“All parties need to cooperate with the government to immediately get the Covid-19 vaccine injection.
“Those who have taken the first dose of vaccine need to complete the second dose of vaccine is recommended.
“While those who have not received the Covid-19 vaccine, they can do so by visiting the nearest vaccination centre (PPV),” he said.
