SIBU: A male pedestrian, 42, died from injuries sustained in an accident at Jalan Sibu-Durin yesterday.
He was believed to be the victim of a hit and run incident which occurred at around 11.36 am.
Sibu district police chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili in a statement today said that the man was hit by a car when he (victim) was crossing the road.
“As a result of the accident, the pedestrian suffered serious head and body injuries and was pronounced dead by the paramedic on the spot,” Zulkipli added.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1981.
“The police advise the public to drive carefully for others’ and their own safety.
