MIRI: Police arrested a man on suspicion of trespassing into a house at Jalan Berembang 1 Pujut 7B on May 17.

The trespassing incident was noticed by the house owner’s neighbour around 1.20pm, where the neighbour saw two unknown men arriving on a motorcycle and climbed over the fence to the house.

The neighbour contacted the police and once the police arrived at the scene, both suspects fled on their motorcycle with a gunny sack in hand.

A few days later, a Miri CID team upon receiving information, managed to apprehend one of the suspects by the roadside at Kampung Pujut Corner.

The 26-year-old suspects, along with a motorcycle, were brought to the police station.

Miri deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol confirmed that the arrest was made last Thursday around 2.50pm

Background checks found that the suspect had a past record related to theft.

The case is being investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass.
