SIBU: Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee will collaborate with surau and mosques in his constituency to create an initiative called ‘Almari Sedekah’ to help those in need.
He said the initiative, which will start tomorrow (Saturday), is to give the community the opportunity to donate daily necessities to help the needy.
“For a start, two mosques and five surau will be involved in this programme. These are Masjid Babusalam, Masjid Bahagia Jaya Teku, Surau Darul Islam, Surau Darul Ehsan, Surau Darul Hijrah, Surau Edruce as well as Surau Maa’wa.
“Anyone who wants to donate items is required to contact the respective surau and mosques,” said Dr Annuar, who is also Sibu Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) coordinator during a virtual meeting with the surau and mosque committee members today.
He added that for those who need help, they can contact the surau and mosque committees.
