MIRI: Police on Sunday afternoon apprehended a local man after he ran amok and smashed the front door of his father’s home early that morning.

Not only did the 48-year-old suspect run amok inside the house at Jalan Riam but he also threatened to kill his father.

Fearing for his safety, his father later lodged a police report on the 1 am incident.

Acting on the report lodged, a team from the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) IPD detained the suspect that same day.

Miri police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari confirmed the arrest.

However, since the actual cause of the amok incident is not immediately known, police are investigating the case.
