KUCHING: Candy, gumball, food, snack and beverage vending machines are commonly found in the state nowadays.
But not many may have come across a vending machine that sells animal food.
For animal lovers, this is good news as Just Pets is offering a first of its kind pet vending machine in the city.
The Just Pets Express animal food vending machine is located inside E-mart, Tabuan Jaya here.
Speaking to New Sarawak Tribune, Just Pets Sdn Bhd director Rachel Chai said her pet shop started to place the vending machine at the one-stop shopping mall since September last year.
On what gave her the idea to set up an animal food vending machine, she said it is to provide ease for animal lovers.
“The vending machine is for customer’s convenience and emergency needs of pet food when our branches are closed,” she said.
She also said the pet food vending machine could come in handy whenever strays are rescued.
“The most important is the milk and nursing bottle as there are times strays are rescued and need a milk and nursing kit. This (animal food vending machine) will be a lifesaver,” she said.
Just Pets Express pet food vending machine offers animal food for both cats and dogs.
“Most of the items available in the vending machine are wet food for both cats and dogs.
“As for the price, it ranges from RM2.50 to RM20 depending on the product and size,” she said.
A dog owner said having an animal food vending machine is a good idea and indeed brings convenience to pet owners.
“I do hope more of this is available near residential areas so that pet owners can just head out to the vending machine and get the food at their fingertip,” said Shane Law.
Rachel and her husband are both pet lovers and pet owners. The couple is also a snow dog breeder.
“There is so much to share in pet care education and our main focus is providing quality pet products to pet owners,” she said.
Just Pets started operating its first branch in 2008 and is located at Batu Kawa. Now, they have branches located in RH Plaza, BDC; Jalan Tun Jugah and Vivacity Megamall.
Meanwhile, the animal food vending machine was installed by VendTimes, a local vending machine solutions provider.
