KUCHING: Shoppers can be certain that Christmas at the Spring Shopping Mall this year is sure to be a festive wonderland filled with mythical beings as the mall brings forward the ‘Garden of Dreams’.

Be entranced by the mall that is filled with mythical beings of sky, land and sea set amongst the lush greens along the concourse as shoppers will be greeted by a series of festive characters from the pink unicorn and frog prince at the centre court and look out for Evander, the good dragon at the Christmas Bazaar area.

The merriment of Christmas can be experienced by joining the festive weekend activities at the mall such as creating the Garden of Dreams Terrarium and making snowglobes using upcycled glass jars, as well as catching the extravagant annual fireworks display on Christmas Eve at the mall.

“Christmas is a very special occasion. For me this is the season of joy, giving and also sharing with family and friends,” said Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian while attending the launching of the Spring Shopping Mall’s ‘Garden of Dreams’ here on Wednesday night.

During his speech, Dr Sim congratulated the management of the mall for creating a magical garden themed experience and invited all families in Kuching to visit the mall so they can share love, spend time and enjoy the holiday season together with family and friends as well as to help the less fortunate.

Meanwhile, the Spring Management Services Sdn Bhd general manager Datin Christine Ling explained that the theme for this year’s Christmas decorations whisks shoppers back to their childhood years.

“For our corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign this year, the Spring chose the Hope Place Kuching, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) which aims towards alleviating the plight of the poor and deprived individuals in Kuching.

“We wanted to create a dream of Christmas for the families registered with Hope Place,” she said.

Shoppers can help in the mall’s CSR campaign by visiting the mall’s Christmas Bazaar and pick up a sea shell shaped Christmas wishlist from the topiary tree, purchase the gifts from any tenants in the mall and hand it to the customer service counter.

In addition to that, the shopping mall will also be rewarding shoppers with exclusive Christmas redemptions when they spend over RM150 in a single receipt while big spenders who spend RM6,000 in a maximum of three receipts from three different outlets mall-wide will be rewarded an exclusive Anna Sui miniature fragrance gift set.
