PADAWAN: In a bizarre incident another construction worker died on the spot after he was believed to have fallen off from his motorcycle and landing straight into the bushes by the roadside on Saturday (Aug 28).

Investigations found that the incident happened along Jalan FAC Matang around 7.30am.

District deputy police chief DSP Lim Jaw Shyong who confirmed the case, said the 34-year-old victim was believed to be riding his motorcycle alone.

“It is believed that the victim’s motorcycle had gone out control and the victim was thrown into the bushes by the roadside.

“As a result, the victim suffered severe injuries and later pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

“The body was then taken to SGH Forensic Unit for post-mortem,” he told.

He noted that the case is still being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Anyone who witnessed the incident are advised to come forward to assist the police in the investigation.
