Another feather in cap for Weida Integrated Industries

KUCHING: Weida Integrated Industries Sdn Bhd has successfully obtained a SIRIM Eco-Label Certification for its FLOLINE 3-W High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) profiled pipes.

Its group executive chairman, Datuk Lee Choon Chin described the milestone as part of the group’s efforts towards environmental sustainability.

He said the purpose of the certification was to ensure that the whole process methodology, from sourcing to processing of materials, is eco-friendly.

“The overall basis of the certification is to contribute to the protection of the environment.

“We hope to see more manufacturers and industry players be part of this green initiative because the protection of the environment requires a collective effort from everyone.”

Lee said this after the handover ceremony at Weida’s exhibition booth at the International Water and Wastewater Exhibition and Conference (BIWWEC) 2022 on Today (Oct 17).

He received the SIRIM Eco-Label Product Certification Licence from SIRIM regional director Kasvenda Kassim.

The handover was witnessed by Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Dr Hazland Abang Hipni.

The SIRIM Eco-Label certification means the product produced by Weida is verified as an environmental-friendly product, from the raw materials used to the manufacturing workflow and practices in producing the product.
