KUCHING: Kuching City FC will continue their pre-season preparation for the upcoming 2023 Malaysia Super League by playing a friendly match against Sri Pahang FC this Sunday at Stadium Negeri, Petra Jaya.

This is the eighth friendly match before Kuching City FC embark their first season in the nation’s top flight football.

“The next warm-up game against Sri Pahang FC will serve as our next test before the season starts on February 24.

“I hope that this match will finally help me to decide the best eleven for me to head into the new season,” Irfan told New Sarawak Tribune and its sister paper Arena Suara Sarawak.

Commenting on the current development of his team, Irfan said he is satisfied with the performance shown by his players so far after going through all the previous seven friendly matches.

“I am satisfied with the performance so far but the chemistry between the old players and the new recruits, especially the foreign ones, can be better and has to be better as it has not reached the expectation that I want to see so far.

“It is not up to a worrying state and I believe that there is still time to improve the team’s chemistry before the season starts,” Irfan added.

He stated that the remaining three weeks will be used wisely to iron out all the issues as soon and as best as possible.
