MUKAH: Sarawak achieved another milestone in the development of more technical training in the state with the launch of Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (Centexs) Mukah as the sixth campus outside Kuching after Lundu, Dalat, Lawas and Betong.

Centexs chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani said it was born from a determination to have more technical people trained especially the youth, to meet the needs of industries, and to help achieve Sarawak’s vision as a developed state.

He added as envisioned by the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, Centexs Mukah would be offering technical programmes in the Oil and Gas Academy as well as Palm and Agriculture Academy, as their core programmes apart from other generic technical skills training.

According to him, Centexs was setting up the Oil and Gas Academy in its Mukah Campus as it considered it timely to do so in view of the active participation of the state in the Oil and Gas Industry through Petroleum Sarawak (Petros).
