BINTULU: A family in Kampung Kemunting here, feared for their safety after their pet monkey escaped from its cage and entered their house last Tuesday (Jan 23).

The Civil Defence Force (APM) was alerted to the scene after the family, who feared that the animal might bite them, contacted the team around 2.38pm.

Following that, a five-man team was deployed to the scene and found the aggressive monkey in an empty room in the house.

The team used wooden sticks and baiting techniques to lure the monkey out of the room for capture.

Once the mammal was captured, the team helped to place it back in the iron cage in front of the house.

After ensuring that the situation was safe, the team concluded the operation and returned to their station.
