MIRI: A grandmother had the shock of her life when she found a snake hiding at the back of a television closet at a house in Kampung Luak Bay yesterday.
Miri district Civil Defence Force officer Captain Mohd Hazle Shah Abd Hamid said a Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) team rushed to the house after receiving an emergency call on the matter at 8.22pm.
“The family was aware of the presence of the snake when their grandson heard a strange noise behind the television closet,” he said in a statement yesterday.
After checking the closet, the grandmother found a black snake behind it and immediately called 999 for help.
The APM personnel managed to catch the one-metre long snake using a special snake catcher.
