KUCHING: Applications for stalls at the Chinese New Year Festival Sale at Kenyalang Park Commercial Center Mall for next year are open.

According to the mayor of Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Datuk Wee Hong Seng, (Friday) stated that the deadline will be at 4 p.m. on December 16.

Wee said that the 16-day Chinese New Year Festive Sale in 2023 will take place from January 6 to January 23.

In a press conference held today at MBKS headquarters, he said that those interested may obtain the application forms at Counter 9 of the MBKS One Stop Service Centre.

“There will be fees for each stall (4ft x 8ft), with a total of 272 stalls available for rent.

“It would cost RM110 per stall for the general public, and RM60 per stall for business owners or renters at Kenyalang Park Commercial Centre for the two spaces in front of or beside their shop,” he said.

Wee stated that the council anticipates a few hundred thousand people to the annual market and councillor Chai Ju Loon will be the event’s organising chairman.

The ceremony is scheduled for January 6, and will be officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
