SARIKEI: Some parts of Sarikei suffered water shortage and supply disruption after a main pipe was damaged due to work on the Pan Borneo Highway.
Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) urged the contractors responsible to complete the repairs immediately so that supply could resume to the affected areas, numbering some 4,000 households.
“The affected areas are Jalan KJD Meradong, Skim B, the whole of Pakai area (except Pekan Pakan), along Jalan Bulat from Sg Deer up to Sg Joh, Kesa Baron, Kesa, Jalan Onn Dian, Sg Garan, Jalan Friendship, Jalan Cola and Simpang Pakan.
“The areas that are not on the list are expected to experience low water pressure,” JBALB said on Tuesday (Jan 25).
“We regret any inconvenience caused and greatly appreciate the patience from the consumers.
“All the latest updates will be available on JBALB’s social media platform.”
