SIMANGGANG: Some 350 households here received food assistance from Prihatin Angkatan Bersatu Anak Muda (Armada) Sri Aman under the Prihatin Armada Sri Aman programme.

Youth Wing chief Alexander Frusisin on Monday (July 12) said the assistance had benefitted 350 households who have lost their income and job due to the Covid-19 movement control order (MCO).

“The programme was launched in March in collaboration with various organisations as well as private companies and will be continued until June 2021, focusing on single mothers, people with disabilities (OKU), and Sri Aman residents who have lost their daily income.

“This assistance is in the form of food packs containing basic necessities such as rice, biscuits, bread and others.”

Armada also applauded the government’s efforts in providing assistance such as National People’s Wellbeing and Economic Recovery Package (Pemulih) and Sarawakku Special Assistance (BKSS).

“We believed Pemulih and BKSS 6.0 are timely during this difficult time and the people welcomed such assistance, especially the moratorium of six months.
