KUCHING: A total of 120 army and air force personnel of the Malaysian Armed Force (ATM) received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at the Bukavu Hall at Penrissen Camp, here.

First Infantry Division commander Major-General Datuk Dzulkafli Mustaffa was the first to be vaccinated.

Most of them describe the vaccination process as normal and painless — some even describing that they were excited and nervous, or both, to get the vaccine.

New Sarawak Tribune spoke with a few ATM personnel and most of them expressed confidence that being vaccinated would enable them to carry out their duties safely.

They also urged members of the public to get vaccinated for their safety as well as the safety of everyone around them.

I feel safer after getting vaccinated and I am grateful for it. For those who have not yet registered for the vaccine, please do so. This will enable the vaccination programme to run as smoothly as possible without much trouble.

Thankfully, I experienced no side effects from the vaccine but I will see if there are any changes in one or two days. As frontliners, it is important for us to get the vaccine as it enables us to carry out our duties safely and we can also perform our daily tasks normally.
